What is Geo Walk - World Factbook 3D?

This educational app is a virtual globe with clickable landmarks, each with a short description or article about the place. Geo Walk – World Fact Book 3D is available for $2.99 in the iTunes app store, and is rated for kids 4+, but is probably best for kids who are a little older and able to understand better the information offered.

This creative, 21st century take on a world atlas is a fun way to learn a little about this world we live on.

Users rotate the globe to find any of the 500 landmarks, like the Eiffel Tower, click on it, and read a quick write-up about the place, its history and significance.

Users can filter out categories they don’t want to read about at the moment to clean up the globe and find the nuggets of knowledge for which they are searching.

Geo Walk – World Factbook 3D also features a quiz mode with multiple choice questions if users want to sharpen their mind.

Though the concept is wonderful, reviews of Geo Walk are underwhelming. Scoring only a 2.6 out of 5 in the app store review section, the app may be in need of improvement.

One user complained of poor writing in the blurbs, pointing out spelling and grammar issues that fouled her experience. Though the developers may fix this issue with an update, it is something to keep in mind.

Is Geo Walk - World Factbook 3D safe for my kids?

Geo Walk – World Factbook 3D is a safe app for kids. It is rated 4+, but is best for older kids with the ability to process and enjoy knowledge about the world.

Younger kids might find it difficult to get interested in the content, but if they do, that’s a wonderful thing.

A parent would be excited to see their kid spending time sifting through this virtual atlas rather than playing some mindless game to pass the time. Geo Walk is a great waiting room app, and it has the benefit of packing content into easily digestible blurbs, that can be read quickly and keep the attention of kids and adults alike.

This app does not feature sexual content, violence, in-app purchases, or social connection that may result in contacting strangers, so parents need not worry about kids spinning the Geo Walk virtual globe.
