What is Curious World: Games for Kids?

Alongside the beloved character, Curious George, Curious World fosters early child development and learning with over 1,000 educational games, videos and books.

This app is available for iOS devices and is rated for users of all ages. The Curious World app also features in-app purchases.

The Curious World iOS app content is curated by experts according to age and level of development in key subject areas including Science, Math, Literacy, Executive Function, Creative Expression, Social & Emotional Interaction, and Health & Well-Being.

Parents set up each child's Curious World account by creating a profile of their child's interests and developmental progress, which the app uses to tailor content recommendations and areas for exploration.

A parental dashboard tracks your child's use of the app, letting you know what they've accessed and how much time is spent exploring each subject area. Parents will also receive customized lesson plans with enrichment activities they can pursue with their child to further support their education.

The Curious World video library is stocked with titles from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and third-party providers like National Geographic, NASA, StoryBots, PBS Digital, and more. Kids can also play exclusive, interactive games that reinforce content in key academic subject areas.
The app included five hundred books, videos, and games on launch day, with five to ten new titles added every week thereafter.

The books in Curious World's library are authored by seventeen Caldecott Medal Winners, fifteen National Book Award Winners, and forty-eight Pulitzer Prize Winners.

Is Curious World: Games for Kids safe for my kids?

The Curious World app is safe for children and can be a valuable part of their early learning curriculum. It still qualifies as screen-based entertainment, however, and should be subject to health limits.

Parents may want to take into consideration The American Society of Pediatrics recommended limits for children ages five through eight; one hour of screen-based entertainment per day.

Younger children may be given access to electronic entertainment at their parents discretion, but toddlers (ages eighteen months and younger) are recommended to avoid even high-quality screen-based media.

The Curious World app addresses screen time limitations by tracking children’s usage of the app and recommending real-world activities to supplement user's education wherever applicable.

Curious World is a freemium app, free to download and install with a limited selection of educational content. A subscription plan is available, with full access to the content library and additional features for $10.00 per month.

Additional features available to subscribers include:

  • Customized content recommendations for each child, based on their age and interests.
