What is PBS KIDS Games?
PBS KIDS Games is educational app for kids to learn while they play alongside their favorite PBS Kids characters.
This app can be found in the App Store and the Google Play Store and is rated for users of all ages. This app does not feature any in-app purchases or advertisements.
Characters are given just enough “air time” to make kids feel like they are part of the show, without making them bored waiting to play. The right-side scroll bar features images of PBS Kids characters, which can be tapped to open one or more games from each show.
The overall gameplay is easy, with clear instructions, but still challenging enough to make this appropriate for older preschoolers and children in early elementary school.
Is PBS KIDS Games safe for my kids?
PBS KIDS Games is absolutely safe for kids. The app features a tab marked “Grownups,” specifically for parent or caregiver use, which allows purchases or donations to PBS.
The app has a limited layer of protection built-in, where the user must solve a puzzle before accessing the PBS shop, Google Play, iTunes or donation page.
Parents should be aware that it’s possible for kids to charge digital episodes, DVDs or donations to the credit card attached to the account, so password protection is advised.
