What is Angry Birds Go!?

Angry Birds Go! Is yet another version in the growing Angry Birds franchise. Angry Birds Go! Is a racing gaming app in which players race as birds or pigs through the colorful, 3-D Piggy Island.

This app is available for download in both the App Store and the Google Play Store and is rated for users of all ages. This app features both in-app purchases and advertisements.

This variant of the Angry Birds games puts a new twist on the games you typically see in this franchise. While most of these games focus on launching birds via a slingshot to knock down towers and destroy pigs, Angry Birds Go! Puts players into the driver's seat and allows them to race as either birds or pigs, a new option for players.

When users first download the app, users are asked if they are a new player or a returning one. New players must play through two trial games that aim to teach them how to use the game.  The first of which is a solo race and the next is a race against two other players.

Regarding the steering, there is definitely a learning curve. Player must tap the arrows on the right and left sides of their screen.  While this is difficult at first, it is likely that as users play the game more this will become second nature. Using the steering controls for the first time proves to be very difficult and users should expect to crash into some walls until they get used to the game.

After users complete these two tutorial races they are taken to the main menu that offers a variety of options.  In the bottom-right corner, users have the options of casting their game to a large screen provided that they have Chromecast capabilities.

Users may also play in what’s called Party Mode. Party Mode allows multiple players who are all on the same WiFi to play together in a multiplayer game.

Users can also adjust their setting or check out the fan shop in the bottom-left hand corner of the main menu. The main feature of this menu is the game map which players can scroll through to see where they stand as well as select different racing campaigns.

Gems and coins are the in-app currency and these both can earn users booster and rewards as well as helping them advance through the game faster. Lightning bolts acts as energy in this game and are needed to race, these bolts replenish one at a time every 4 minutes but some users may be tempted to purchase more.

User reviews are generally positive but some users complain that they liked older versions of this game more. It seems that recent updates have made the game somewhat harder to encourage more in-app purchases.

Is Angry Birds Go! safe for my kids?

The Angry Birds Go! app is safe for kids of all ages but parents will want to keep a few things in mind.

Content wise, this app poses no risks but parents should be aware that gaming app have a tendency to be highly addicting. Parents should speak with their kids about creating healthy screen time habits as well as making sure to engage with them while playing this game.

The local multiplayer over WiFi feature offers parents a fun opportunity to play this game with their child and even the whole family. Players will likely not run into strangers playing Party Mode, as it’s something that needs to be discussed and planned with other player.

The only other concern parents may want to consider is the ability to make in-app purchases. Parents should make spending expectations clear before allowing their child to download this app because it can be very easy to continue making purchase after purchase when the game gets frustrating.
