What is Rush?

Rush is a fast paced single-player gaming app, in which users navigate their way through an endless roller coaster ride. With graphics reminiscent of Tron, players test their dexterity and reaction skills on a futuristic coaster, avoiding obstacles as they quickly come their way.

The Rush app is a simplistic gaming app, in which players navigate through an endless, futuristic roller coaster, filled with obstacles. The fast paced game is free to play, but does feature advertisements throughout the app.

While playing, those users opting for the free version will have a banner ad prominently placed at the bottom of their mobile device’s screen, in addition to video ads which play throughout.

In fact, when users download the Rush app and open for the first time, they’re immediately served a video ad, before being able to continue to the home screen.

The Rush app’s game currency comes in the form of gems, which are earned through game play, bestowed through special gifts (rewarding longer game play), and can also be earned by watching video ads.

Unlike many gaming apps, which only advertise for other games available in the app store, Rush’s advertisements contain a bit of everything including web software, cable television shows, and other apps.

An additional ad feature is that of a thumbnail between rounds, advertising a gaming app by the Rush app’s developer, Ketchapp, with a “play now” banner across.

As previously stated, gems are the Rush app’s currency, and are used for everything from upgrading a player’s sphere. They can choose from five different sphere types, including common, rare, epic, ranks and secrets in order to unlock additional road or track, layout options.

Is Rush safe for my kids?

This app is rated for players 4 years and older and Rush is free to play, but does feature advertisements and in-app purchases. It is relatively safe for kids.

With so many advertisements featured throughout, and really, at every turn, the Rush app seems like an obstacle course. The reality is that it’s extremely easy to accidentally tap the banner ad at the bottom of the screen while playing Rush.

Parents should be aware that the banner, when tapped, takes players to a third party site and this can be problematic (and frustrating) for those letting small children play the Rush app.

Parents will be happy to know that a premium version of the game comes in the way of a single in-app purchase of $2.99, which doubles the amount of gems earned through game play, in addition to removing advertisements for ad-free game play.

And unlike other apps on the market, players do not purchase gem packages in Rush, they simply pay to upgrade their app to premium, in order to amass more gem through game play.

In short, any concerns parents may have will likely come in the form of third party platform ads, which can be alleviated with a one-time in-app purchase. From there, it will be a matter of parents having to pry their kids away from the Rush app, because its fast-paced game play can definitely be addicting.
