What is myHAC - Home Access Center?

myHAC is an app designed to allow both students and parents to access their school’s Home Access Center (HAC) from a mobile device.

Rated for users of all ages, the myHAC app is available only for iOS devices and costs $3.99 to download. MyHAC does not feature any advertisements but does feature additional in-app purchases.

The myHAC app was created by a high schooler to allow students the ability to access their Home Access Center (HAC) information from an iOS device.

The mobile compliment to the Home Access Center (HAC) student information system, the myHAC app allows students and parents to access school information from anywhere.  That information includes:

  • Class schedule
  • Attendance
  • Assignments
  • Class grades
  • Grade point average (GPA)

Users should note that they must have an active myHAC account to be able to access the myHAC app via mobile device. Users who do not have an existing account should contact their school district for information about setting up a Home Access Center account.

Parent usage of the myHAC app differs slightly from their child’s access point, as their Home Access Center account is meant for them to have an easy access point for pertinent student information as well as an easy access point to communicate with their student’s teachers and school administration.

When users first log into the myHAC app, they’ll need to locate their school district, using the search bar at the top of the screen. Once users find their district, they select it and are then prompted to enter their login credentials (already established for the Home Access Center).

It’s important to note that parents should contact their school directly to change their email address information for the Home Access Center, as they will not be able to process that request through the mobile application (myHAC is merely an app for an access point to the HAC system).

Is myHAC - Home Access Center safe for my kids?

Parents should note that they will only be able to access student information for those children for whom they are listed as the legal parent or guardian. This app is safe for kids.

Parents who are not listed as the legal guardians of their students will not be issued an account for the Home Access Center.

Parents who are legal guardians and who have multiple children registered in the district can access their students’ information by selecting different tabs or menus within the myHAC mobile application.

To send an email to a teacher or administrator, myHAC users directly navigate to their student’s class schedule or individual class within the app and tap on the instructor name to open their default email client. The user’s native email client will open with the instructor or administrator’s email address auto-filled in the recipient line, and they may begin drafting their email.

myHAC does not pose any issues or causes for parental concern, but it is important to note that users must pay an annual subscription fee of $1.99, in addition to the initial $3.99 download price.

While many school portal providers provide mobile apps for free, myHAC has not entered that space, but myHAC offers an inexpensive option to access school information via mobile device.
