What is My Tamagotchi Forever?
My Tamagotchi Forever is a free app that channels the fun and Tamagotchi fever of the 1990s. Just like the original Tamagotchis, My Tamagotchi Forever features a virtual pet that players must care for by feeding, cleaning and playing with it.

As players care for their Tamagotchi and play games and earn Coins, they level up and unlock bonus features. My Tamagotchi Forever will likely delight the entire family with hours of mindless fun and enjoyment. Caring for a Tamagotchi is only one aspect of the game, with players also needing to feed and wash their critter.
While My Tamagotchi Forever provides simple care instructions via text boxes, "Pet me," "I'm hungry", parents need not worry that younger children will be left out.
My Tamagotchi Forever directs players in actions, with a pointed finger icon that flashes where a player is to take action and different action icons appear at the bottom of the screen, representing food, bedtime, bathroom, etcetera.
When putting their Tamagotchi to sleep they are given the option of being notified when their critter is ready to play again or can opt to speed time up.
The "game map" is set in the make-believe village of Tamatown, with level-ups represented by numbered circles on a map. When My Tamagotchi Forever players complete tasks in caring for their pet, they receive both coin rewards and level-ups.
Level-ups unlock additional features for players, often including items to decorate, furnish or outfit their Tamagotchi's world. For example, after completing level one, players unlock a soccer net that they can then place outdoors to create a soccer field in Tamatown.
My Tamagotchi Forever players are also rewarded by taking virtual pictures of their pet and pasting them into a virtual scrapbook. Players are rewarded with coins and gems both for placing photos in their scrapbook and completing scrapbook pages.
Is My Tamagotchi Forever safe for my kids?
In-app purchases come in the form of coin packages, ranging in price from $1.99 up to $99.99. Parents should discuss spending expectations with their child prior to downloading the app, and password protect any purchases to better monitor spending through the app.
While My Tamagotchi Forever players can take advantage of coin packages to level up faster and outfit their Tamagotchi and its world, in-app purchases are not necessary for play.
It is possible for players to make their way throughout the levels in My Tamagotchi Forever by simply playing games within the game and taking part in additional challenges to earn coins and gems.
My Tamagotchi Forever features a range of mini-games within the game, from match-3 to music games.
For example, if a player finds themselves short on coins to purchase food to feed their Tamagotchi, they need only play a couple rounds of the available games to earn coins to purchase food within the game.
While the My Tamagotchi Forever can be played without making in-app purchases, players are unable to avoid in-app advertisements that can be intrusive at times. But, this is to be expected with a free game.
