What is My Little Pony Rainbow Runners?

My Little Pony Rainbow Runners is a platform game app made for fans of the My Little Pony animated series. Simple to play, My Little Pony Rainbow Runners is free to download, and is rated for players four years of age and older

My Little Pony Rainbow Runners does feature in-app purchases and advertisements.  It is available for both iOS and Android devices.

Opening with an animated storyline, players find out what has caused Ponyville to lose its color and that their mission is to restore color to the land.

Set up as a simple platform game, players gallop through the game, jumping and flying to avoid obstacles and collect Pony Power balls, all while dragging color back through the land.

The My Little Pony Rainbow Runners app, created by Budge Studios, will appeal to fans of the animated series, especially with its animation and related storyline.

From the developers:

A powerful color-stealing spell has been unleashed on Ponyville and it’s up to your favorite ponies to break it with the power of Friendship! Run, jump, awaken your ponies’ Rainbow Powers and use their epic abilities to bring the colors back to the world!

Once in the platform game, players navigate their galloping pony through the level, jumping over obstacles or to obtain Pony Power balls, or grabbing power-ups that unlock a super Rainbow Power.

Each of the six ponies: Princess Twilight Sparkles, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Applejack and Fluttershy,  features a unique Rainbow Power and form.

At the end of each game, Pony Power balls obtained in the level are added to the player’s overall total, and can then be “cashed-in” to purchase additional Rainbow Power upgrades, such as keeping a power up for an additional two seconds.

Is My Little Pony Rainbow Runners safe for my kids?

While My Little Pony Rainbow Runners is rated for players ages four years and older, the developers created the game for players between the ages of six and eight years of age.

Also of note, My Little Pony Rainbow Runners is Child Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) compliant and has a Certified Kids Privacy Seal from the Entertainment Software Rating Board (WSRB). In other words, parents can feel completely safe allowing their children to play this app.

Parents should know that My Little Pony Rainbow Runners is free to download and play but does feature advertisements and in-app purchases, ranging in price from $1.99 to $9.99.

Like many other branded character games, players will eventually come to a virtual roadblock, preventing game progression unless they make an in-app purchase.

Players are provided two of six available ponies to initiate gameplay, but eventually reach a point where they must use a different, locked pony to proceed, forcing them to either pay to continue gameplay or abandon the app, as players are unable to return to replay previous levels.

Individual ponies cost $3.99 to unlock, or players may opt to pay $9.99 to unlock all of the remaining ponies, enabling them to play through the entire game.

Parents should know that My Little Pony Rainbow Runners is suitable for younger players as well, as the game provides verbal instructions for gameplay, such as navigating through control use and level goals.

Players also receive verbal feedback throughout their level gameplay, cheering them on and narrating the action, almost as though players are in the actual animated series.
