What is Kick the Buddy?

Kick the Buddy is an app that allows players to beat a ragdoll figure to oblivion. Touted as a stress-relieving game, Kick the Buddy is a puppet-like figure that players, with their choice of weapon, inflict abuse upon until knocking out, exploding, or killing.

Kick the Buddy offers a 3-day free trial, with subscription plans offered thereafter.

This app will require a lot of additional activities, such as watching of advertisement videos in order for players to advance. A 3-day free trial is offered and after that ends users must choose a subscription level.

Each of the subscription plans unlock 20 weapons, 20 outfits, removes ads and bestows 1,000 Bucks in game currency and 100 gold each day. Those who wish for a more graphic experience can pay $4.99 to have blood added to the mix.

It also offers a range of themed items, such as China Town, Office, Horror and Power of Gods. Kick the Buddy players can purchase weapons with game currency, while many of the weapons are available for “free” requiring users to watch videos, subscribe to the app’s Instagram feed, or invite friends.

In-app purchases are featured throughout the Kick the Buddy app, and players are able to load up on coins, gold and other sought after items, ranging in price from $0.99 to $9.99.

Players are awarded Bucks, gold and weapon upgrades as daily play rewards and at the end of each fight.

Is Kick the Buddy safe for my kids?

The Kick the Buddy app is rated for users 12 years or older, and revolves around inflicting violence upon Buddy. The puppet-like character appears, flopping around on a stage, responding in short quips, meant to be humorous.

The encouraged violence and graphic nature of this app makes it not appropriate for kids of any age.

Kick the Buddy provides a wide range of injury-inflicting implements, which players use while Buddy flops around shouting “Enough!”, “Stop!”, and “The pain!” To access torture devices and weapons, players head to Buddy’s Notepad, and flip through the menu labeled “Stuff”.

The weapon range in Kick the Buddy is extensive, including firearms, cold weapons, explosives, household/kitchen appliances, foods (for projectiles), liquids (including acid), machines.
