What is Bricks?

Bricks is a fast-paced puzzle app that challenges players to match like-colored blocks to clear rows as the screen scrolls. Rated for players ages four years and older, Bricks is free to download and play, but does feature advertisements. Brick is available for both iOS and Android devices.

A point is awarded for each brick match made, challenging players to see how many points they can amass before the bricks reach the top of the screen (and the game ends).

Once the Bricks app is downloaded, players can begin playing immediately. Bricks begins by dropping a colored block into a scrolling screen comprised of blocks. Players are tasked with making like-colored matches with the blocks as the screen quickly moves, making the structure of blocks higher and higher.

The bricks, in the Bricks app come in five colors: blue, pink, purple, green and orange, and are randomly stacked together. The starting block holds a number counter inside, which shows the point tally. One point is awarded for each color match.

Tapping to move the starting brick, players glide their brick across the screen to make a match, when then clears the corresponding row. If multiple like-colored blocks are stacked atop each other each of those rows will be cleared.

Is Bricks safe for my kids?

Parents should know that the Bricks app is a puzzle matching app, much like Tetris. Players of all ages can play this simplistic game and very likely will become mindlessly addicted to Bricks.

While Bricks is definitely simplistic, challenge is introduced by randomization. Matching bricks with a fast scrolling screen seems straightforward but the Bricks app challenges players by changing their matching block’s color at random times, making them scramble to re-calibrate and make matches with the new colors.

While Bricks is fun to play, many users complain that the app freezes often, and that advertisements are intrusive.

A common complaint about the Bricks ad system is that ads appear over screens during gameplay without pausing the existing game and typically disturb a player’s game or rhythm.

Despite asking for the ability to pay to remove ads for uninterrupted play, the Bricks app does not currently feature any in-app purchases.

While Bricks is free (and fun) to play, intrusive ad placements may be a deal breaker.

Apart from pesky ads, which threaten to take players to third party sites parents don’t have much to worry about with the Bricks app, this app is safe for kids.
