What is JSwipe - #1 Jewish Dating App?

Nicknamed “Tinder for the tribe”, JSwipe is a niche dating app created specifically for Jewish singles (or those wanting to meet Jewish singles). 

This app can be found in both the App Store and the Google Play Store. It is rated for users 17 years of age and older.  Jswipe offers in-app purchases.

Much like Tinder, users swipe left or right, and are greeted with either smiling or frowning Stars of David, to make matches on the platform. Once two users swipe right for each other, they’re matched, and then have 18 days to initiate conversation before their match expires. 

While free to download, subscribing users will get the best results from this app.

When people refer to JSwipe as Tinder for Jews, they’re referring to the format of the platform, rather than the nature of the dating app, which parents will appreciate. 

It’s important to note that JSwipe is rated for mature users 17 years or older, but only requires users to be 13+ to use. 90 percent of JSwipe users are in their 20s, so teens may not fare as well on this app as older users.

Once users download the free app, they register their account with either their Facebook account or email address. Like Tinder, users can upload up to four pictures and are given a short section to write a description for their profile. Unlike Tinder, users are asked to select their identity from one of the following options: just Jewish, Orthodox, Traditional, Conservative, Willing to Convert. Users also indicate whether or not they keep kosher.

While JSwipe is free to use, it offers a range of in-app purchase that greatly enhance the user experience on the dating platform. In-app purchases range in cost from $4.99 to $29.99; JSwipe also offers a subscription membership, called JSwipe First Class, for $17.99 per month.

Additional features included in the JSwipe First Class monthly subscription include Boosts, which show a user’s profile twice as often (to potential matches); the ability to Optimize their profile photos by receiving feedback and reviews; a Passport feature, which allows users to change their search location to anywhere in the world; 5 Super Swipes (a way for users to let a potential match know that they’re really interested in them) and one Swipe Note per day (versus one Super Swipe allotted to non-paying members per day); and read receipts that notify the user when their message has been read.
