What is South Park: Phone Destroyer™?

GTA: Chinatown Wars is a mobile edition in the popular Grand Theft Auto series of console games. Players take on the role of Huang Lee, on a mission to ensure that his family retains control of the Triad gangs in Liberty City after his father’s murder.

The GTA: Chinatown Wars app is only available for Android devices, and can be downloaded for $4.99. GTA: Chinatown Wars is rated for players 17 years of age and older.

GTA: Chinatown Wars again explores the seedy underbelly of the faux Liberty City, this time through the dark underworld in Chinatown.

GTA: Chinatown Wars is yet another mission-style game from the Grand Theft Auto franchise. Per the developers, the game is as follows:

Following his father's murder, Huang Lee has a simple mission: deliver an ancient sword to his Uncle Kenny to ensure his family retains control of the Triad gangs of Liberty City. Huang is a spoiled rich kid who expects everything to run smoothly, but his trip does not go exactly as planned. After being robbed and left to die, he will search for honor, riches and revenge in the most dangerous and morally bankrupt city in the world.

Parents unfamiliar with the Grand Theft Auto series of games should know that each game is like a soap opera or crime movie in which players participate.

Players acting as Huang will be enlisted to perform various missions in his effort to ensure his family remains in control of the Triad gangs in Liberty City.  Huang's missions involve murder, transporting cars (via grand theft auto) and chauffeuring characters to designated drop-offs.

Along the way, players will need to deal with rival gangs and police. Police officers will only stop pursuing a player once they've evaded them for a period of time. All of the game's maneuvers are performed with the GTA: Chinatown Wars app's on-screen touch controls.

As players successfully complete each mission they’re paid, with cash total serving as points as they progress through the game. Money can be used to purchase items such as guns and other weapons needed to complete missions as players progress through the game.

The storyline and soap opera feel of Chinatown Wars comes by way of cutscenes, which are short animated clips that both provide background for the game’s storyline as well as function to move the game forward.

Is South Park: Phone Destroyer™ safe for my kids?

With an ‘M’ rating, parents should be aware that GTA: Chinatown Wars is a game for adults and not suitable for children.

A part of the Grand Theft Auto family of games, parents should know that gang violence, graphic violence, profane language, drug use, sexual content, blood and gore feature heavily here, not to mention that the game centers entirely around illegal activities.

Parents can expect these cutscenes to contain strong language, references to violence, and even sexual content/innuendo.

Gang rivalry, police evasion and corruption make up the seedy underbelly that is the backbone of GTA: Chinatown Wars, where car theft is a tame offense compared to the other action within the game.

It's important to note is that those parents allowing older children to play GTA: Chinatown Wars should make sure that the game is not played around smaller children, not only because of the sheer amount of violence involved but also due to the vulgar language featured throughout.
