Google Photos is a photo gallery app that provides users with a myriad of storage and editing options. In addition to freeing up valuable phone space, the Google Photos app allows users to share their photo libraries with a few simple taps of the screen.

Google Photos is free to download and use, and does not contain any advertisements or in-app purchases.

Once photos are uploaded, Google Photos automatically backs up those photos and organizes them into three main categories: people, places, and things. Google Photos employs a visual search, which is a little unnerving, but most people have already encountered this through Facebook.

With Google Photos’ visual search, users can search their vast photo libraries by terms. Looking for photos of a specific person? Users have the ability to search for photos by people, in the Google Photos gallery.

Unlimited cloud storage and the ability to free up space on mobile devices are only two,of the many perks the Google Photos app has to offer. Google Photos has its own assistant, not to be confused with the Google Assistant from Google Home, which guides users in making the most of the app.

Users can create albums, collages, animations, and even movies of their existing library of photos with the help of the Google assistant in the Google Photos app.

As an added bonus Google Photos has a built in photo editor allowing users to fine-tune and perfect the photos in their gallery. While not the same as professional photo editing software, Google Photos offers users the ability to apply filters and adjust photo details such as the contrast and saturation levels.

All in all the Google Photos app is a handy photo gallery with some excellent added features. The ability to free up precious space on mobile devices is an excellent selling point as is the ability for families to easily share albums.

Even more enticing is the offer of unlimited cloud storage, packed into an app that does not feature advertisements or in-app purchases.

Is Google Photos safe for my kids?

An exciting feature of Google Photos, and definitely one that parents should be aware of is the ability for users to easily share their photo libraries with others.

Perfect for creating family albums Google Photos users can share their entire photo libraries with others, or simply share specific albums or photos from specific dates.

Google Photos is a photo gallery app that allows users to utilize Google’s unlimited cloud storage to store photos, thus freeing valuable space on their mobile devices. Google Photos is rated for everyone, but will obviously make the most sense for children who have a mobile device of their own.

To share, users select the album, or the entire photo library, and input the contact details for the person with which to share. Google Photos then sends an email with an invite which will grant access for the recipient.

This feature can be particularly unnerving for parents as it allows their children to share their personal photos and photo libraries with anyone.
