Down Dating is a dating app created to facilitate the connection of singles looking to date casually or romantically. Down is very similar to popular casual dating apps like Tinder and Bumble.
Upon downloading the Down Dating app, users are prompted to connect a Facebook account to verify both their identity and their age. From here, users create a profile by adding pictures, a short bio, and choosing their interest – "GET DOWN" for casual dates or "GET DATE" for something more serious.
After creating a profile, users can view local profiles, swiping right if they are interested and left if they are not interested. When there is mutual interest (both users swipe right on each other), users have the ability to chat with each other.
Down Dating is free to download and is rated for users older than 17 years of age, but users do have the option to subscribe to the DOWN Private Membership package for $19.99 per month, which auto-renews each month. DOWN Private Membership offers a number of extra features to help users find more connections.
Is DOWN Private Hookup Dating 18+ safe for my kids?
The Down Dating app is not safe for kids. The app is only available for download and use by people 17 years and older, which is verified by both iTunes or Google Play account details and Facebook profile details.
Down Dating is overtly sexualized and encourages young people to partake in casual hook-ups. Use of Down Dating and apps of a similar nature should be discouraged by parents, as they are not intended for children.
Another dangerous element of Down Dating is the presence of online strangers and predators posing as young, attractive people looking for local people to meet.
Within the app, users can potentially be exposed to sexual content, possible nudity, the possible presence of predators, and the overall damaging mindset of casual hook-up culture.
Needless to say, Down Dating is not an app for children.
