To use the Collect app, users must first allow the app access to both their smartphone’s camera and their photo gallery. Users have the option of taking photos directly within the app or pulling photographs directly from their photo gallery for use in their Collect journal.

When users open the Collect app, they are show a calendar with dates, tapping on individual dates allows users to drill into their photo gallery for that date and assign a photo(s) to that date in the calendar.

To add multiple photos to a particular date, users simply tap the + in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, and they’re taken to their photo gallery for the date in question.

Once users assign photos to a date, they have the option of adding text notes to describe the photo(s) and input details about the day. Users have the option of adding both a caption for photographs as well as unlimited text notes for each photo entry.

Collect also provides users with the ability to tag photo entries with keywords for easy search at a later time.

In-app purchases come in the way of upgrade packs with additional features, perfect for serious Collect app users. For $2.99, users can purchase the Keep Safe Pack which features additional syncing options and an automatic backup to a user’s iCloud account to protect their digital photo journal.

Collect app users who wish to create video slides of their photo collections can opt for the Video Pack, where, for $2.99, they have the ability to create square or rectangular videos of their photos, replete with captions, dates, and text notes.

Finally, the Creative Pack for $2.99 gives Collect users the ability to export all of their photos, captions, text notes, and tags to Dropbox and Flickr.
