Cheating Tom 3 - Genius School is a gaming app in which users help the main character, Tom, complete certain tasks and cheat through his studies. It’s free to download from iTunes and Google Play, but does contain advertisements and offer in-app purchases. It’s suggested for ages 4+ but is best for children 12 years and older.
What is Cheating Tom 3?
Cheating Tom 3 - Genius School is the third installment of a gaming app where players help the primary character to cheat through his advanced studies by completing a variety of games and activities.
The app is free to download from iTunes and Google Play and users must periodically watch advertisements in order to play for free. In-app purchases range from $1.99 to $8.99 and include features such as extra coins and reducing the number of ads played during the game.
Like the game Stack Jump, users simply have to look at the advertisements for a certain number of seconds and can eventually click the “X” to continue with the game.
After the app has been downloaded, users must select their age and are then able to immediately begin playing. Each activity lasts for approximately 30 seconds or less, and is a test of the user’s speed and strategy.
The overall goal is to use the game’s commands to direct the main character’s avatar to other students in order to cheat during exams.
When a user successfully completes a task, the character’s avatar moves up a level and the next activity becomes more difficult than before. If a user fails during a task, they will have to watch an ad in order to begin playing again.
While the app has a high rating, some users have complained that the number of ads makes the game slow and unenjoyable.
Is Cheating Tom 3 safe for my kids?
Parents should know that Cheating Tom 3 - Genius School is rated E for everyone and is considered to be appropriate for all ages. Because of this fact, the app does not require age verification.
However, because the app contains questionable themes, particularly the encouragement of cheating and academic dishonesty, it is recommended to be used by mature children that are 12 years or older.
For parents that are concerned about their child being influenced by these themes, make sure to explain that while cheating is rewarded in the app, there are differences between video games and real life.
If you feel that your child may be negatively influenced by the app, this game may not be for them.
It is important to note that Cheating Tom 3 - Genius School requires very little personal information from players and does not allow users to engage with each other, thus substantially minimizing the risk of inappropriate behavior and contact with online predators.
Additionally, while users must watch many advertisements while playing, all of the advertisements shown on the app are for similar games that are appropriate for all age-levels.
Finally, as with any video game, parents should monitor how much time their child spends playing in order to prevent a potential tech addiction.
