Audible offers a plethora of books, including new releases and best sellers, with personal recommendations. Along with books, Audible has a variety of audio shows to help users stay up to date with the news and current events, offering shows from The New York Times, Washington Post, and more.

Audio books are a great way to delve into great literature and thrilling stories on the go, giving busy professionals a way to fit books into their schedules. Users also praise Audible for helping them get their kids into books, as children often find it more enjoyable to listen to the books and stories than to strain to read them.

Is Audible: audiobooks & podcasts safe for my kids?

Audible is a safe app for kids, so long as they are listening age-appropriate books. There are books available that are not appropriate for children, and just as parents would make sure kids were not watching movies that are too mature for them, they should monitor the books they are listening to as well.

The app has multiple thousands of books for all age groups and interests. While Audible offers the benefit of giving kids an easy and fun access to the world of books, it is important that all their consumption of literature is not through audio books, as it is important to develop reading comprehension skills, and that simply cannot be done by listening only.

Audible, and audio books in general, are a great supplement to a child’s reading, but should not replace physical books or eBooks entirely.

Parents should know that users purchase audio books within the app, and they should have a conversation with kids about asking for permission before buying a book, as to avoid unexpected purchases or kids buying and listening to inappropriate books.
