What is Appisodes: Road Rally?

The Disney Junior Appisodes app is an interactive platform for watching Appisodes, which are hybrids between a cartoon and video game.

This app can only be found in the Google Play Store and is free to download. Disney Junior Appisodes: Road Rally features both in-app purchases and advertisements. This app is rated for users of all ages.

Children can watch specially-created episodes featuring occasional pauses for their input. Children can answer question or make decisions for the characters, with limited effect on the unfolding action.

The microphone can be used to verbally communicate with characters in the appisodes, but they are unable to respond intelligently to spoken instructions.

Only one Appisode is included for free, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Road Rally. The other Appisodes available as either individual in-app purchases or with a monthly subscription to the app.

The Disney Junion Appisodes library currently includes features from ten licensed Disney properties:

A full subscription to the Disney Junior Appisodes app costs $2.99 per month, after a seven-day free trial, and will be billed to your iTunes account. Parents may cancel at any time, provided they do so more than twenty-four hours before the date of their next payment. Individual appisodes are $4.99 each.

Many children love the chance to interact directly with their favorite cartoon characters, and having a chance to influence stories and see the effects of their choices play out can be a lot of fun.

Is Appisodes: Road Rally safe for my kids?

As a Disney Junior property, you can be confident that the content of each Disney Junior Appisode is safe for children. There are a few areas of which may be of indirect concern with this app, but inappropriate content isn't one of them.

Disney Junior Appisodes requires a lot of storage. Each appisode takes up 600 MB of storage on your mobile device, which can quickly fill up almost and onboard storage. This is less of a concern if you're restricting use to the free app, or individually purchased episodes, but you will almost certainly run out of storage space on smaller devices if using the Disney Junior Appisodes app on a mobile device with a subscription plan.

This app is also fairly aggressive in its placement of in-app purchasing options. While no action can be taken without entering a numerical code to access the “For Grownups” area of the app, kids may still ask to buy more features.

Parents may want to communicate clearly with their child about expectations regarding in-app purchasing and the use of family funds on video games and apps. Parents can also consider blocking in-app purchases entirely from your device before giving children access to the Disney Junior Appisodes app.

This app also contains in-app advertisements for other Disney properties. Unlike externally-served ad platforms, however, the content of these ads is safe for children.
