Users start by creating a profile, either by connecting a social media account or by using their phone number. After they have a profile,they can search for and follow other users. Users can publish their creations to their VivaVideo profile, as well as other social media accounts.

VivaVideo can be used to create a slideshow of photos that have text art and animated text. With this app, users can edit their videos with tools to trim, cut, crop, merge, duplicate, collage and loop clips. Users can also alter videos with tools to blur, adjust the speed, fade in and out, animate text, add GIFs and incorporate music.

VivaVideo has its own camera with five different modes to choose from, which are basic, music video, selfie, facial effects, and live. The app can merge clips to create a story, incorporate music from your own library, screen record, and export your creations.

VivaVideo is safe for mature teens to use, with the right privacy settings. VivaVideo profiles are set to public by default, but can be changed to private.
