What is TREBEL Music - Download Songs?

Trebel Music is an app that allows users to download both singles and albums, directly to their smartphone. It is a free song downloader that does not list a minimum user age in its terms of service, but is rated for users 12 years of age and older in the App Store.

Trebel Music uses a coin currency (Trebel coins), which can be purchased in packages through in-app purchases, ranging in price from $0.99 to $4.99. Coins can be earned by users, simply by searching for songs, albums and artists in the app (each search yields coin earnings), or by downloading albums (yields the highest number of coins).

Trebel coins can then be used to disable the pesky ads that appear throughout the app.

As the Trebel Music app is funded, in party, by third party advertisers, users agree to have their information collected for third party advertising. It’s important to note that user phone numbers are among the information that is collected by the Trebel Music app, for use by third party advertisers.

When users open the Trebel Music app, they’ll come to a home screen that lists the current top songs on the app. If looking for a specific song, album, or artist, users will want to use the search function, located at the top of the screen.

If searching by artist name, results will be listed in the form of songs (singles) and albums by the specific artist searched for. From there, users can tap on the selection, either a song or complete album, and download it to their phone’s music library.

Is TREBEL Music - Download Songs safe for my kids?

Made for iOS devices only, Trebel Music can be found in the app store, is free to download and use, and contains both advertisements and in-app purchases. It is safe for teens with parental supervision.

With Trebel Music, users can search a database of millions of songs, all legally available to download to a mobile device. Parental concerns with the Trebel Music app will likely come in the form of in-app purchases, music content, and information privacy.

Advertisements on the Trebel Music app can be annoying and tricky or misleading. Parents will want to keep this app out of the hands of younger children, who may be easily mislead by advertisements, enticing them to download an app, and taking them to a third party platform.

For example, when a user looks up a specific song or album, the top portion of the screen will feature the album with a link to “buy album,” while the bottom half of the screen will be an advertisement (with an install button if app). It’s extremely easy to tap the install button, as advertisements are designed to blend in with the app theme, making them seem part of the screen.

It’s also important to note that downloading and using the Trebel Music app is implicit agreement to their terms, which includes allowing them to “obtain anonymous information about other applications you’ve downloaded to your mobile device, the mobile websites you visit, your non-precise location information (e.g., your zip code), and other non- precise location information in order to help analyze and serve anonymous targeted advertising on the Application and elsewhere.”

Parents will want to weigh the benefits of using the Trebel Music app for free, compared to using a paid service without third party advertisers being privy to personal user information.

Music content is not screened through the Trebel Music app, nor is there a child-safe content option, so parents will want to monitor the music their younger children are downloading for explicit lyric content.
