What is Toca Life: City?

When it comes to fun kids’ apps, Toca Boca has it down and their Toca Life: Town follow-up app, Toca Life: City, is no exception.

The ultimate in virtual cause-and-effect, Toca Life: City allows children to explore in an intuitive digital setting, free from interruptions from ads or in-app purchases. Toca Life: City is available to download for a one-time purchase of $3.99 from the App Store or the Google Play Store.   This app is rated for children as young as 3 years of age.

Players enjoy the diverse options available in close proximity in the city, with six locations to explore and 35 characters to style and travel around.

Players can choose from a range of 35 characters, with 6 different locations to explore: hair salon, outdoor food court (and sushi bar), loft apartment, clothing boutique, retail variety store, theatre.

Once players have downloaded and opened the Toca Life: City app, they press the play button and the fun begins. The city opens, and the player has an aerial street view of available locations to explore, each with large icons/signs illustrating what they are.

Players familiar with the first in the Toca Life game series will immediately see how much the platform is improved. More animation, and many, many more options of items to play and experiment with.

Players simply tap on one of the four selectable buildings in the city, which then open up to multiple storefront or retail options to play with.

Choose the hair salon, and players will enter a reception room, replete with lighted candles, comfy couch, magazines, television and receptionist. From there, users can swipe for the scene to move to the salon proper, and the real fun begins. Choose from 47 different hairstyles and 37 different hair colors.

Choose the retail variety store, and players will understand what it’s like to go thrift or antique shopping, sorting through all of the items in the home section, children’s clothing section, grocery, electronics and pet store.  Don’t forget that everything can be moved, tested, paid for and played with, resulting in countless options for players.

A theatre allows players to put on five different plays, moving around props, styling costume and staging characters.

The outdoor food court is a collection of kiosks and counters in which players can pull up a seat or walk up and purchase and consume a variety of different foods.  There’s even a sushi bar, where the chef is sporting either a squid or an octopus in her hair!

Is Toca Life: City safe for my kids?

Perhaps one of the best features of Toca Life: City is that there are absolutely no in-app purchases or advertisements, so parents are reassured that they children will not be bombarded with ads or temptations for purchases, as they play.

Adults and older kids will also enjoy exploring all of the things the Toca characters are able to do around town.

Both children and adults will have fun experimenting with everything in Toca Life: City and uncovering surprises along the way.

The best part is that parents don’t have to worry about their children being marketed to or being tempted to tap on ads that lead them from the platform.
