What is Sit With Us?

Sit With Us is a social networking app designed for teens to promote kindness and inclusions in schools.

The Sit With Us app is available for free download in both the App Store and the Google Play Store. It is rated for teen users and does not feature any in-app purchases or advertisements.

Users downloading this app will be asked to sign in or create and account using an email address or they can connect their account to their Facebook. Users will then be asked to type in their school and address so that they can find their friends and make new ones.

Profiles on this social networking app are very similar to those on Facebook where users can add friends and share hobbies and personal info. The difference with this app is that it is focused on making lunch plans with friends so that no one is left out.

Further users can elect to become a Sit With Us Ambassador for their school by taking an Ambassador’s pledge and hosting open lunches in which any student can join them.

Is Sit With Us safe for my kids?

The Sit With Us app is safe for teens to use.

This app was created by a 16 year old, who was the victim of severe bullying at school. She made it her goal to create this app so that others would not have to experience eating lunch on their own day after day like she had. The entire message of this app focuses on inclusion and parents should have no worries about the features included in it.

That being said, as much as this app strives for inclusion, there is always room for kids to become bullies and use this app negatively. Parents should monitor their teens use of this app and discuss ways to deal with bullying if their child experiences it.

This app does feature chats with friends as well as photo and video sharing.

This app is still fairly new and does not have a lot of reviews yet. Reviews so far, are mostly positive but some users do complain about problems and glitches while using the app that prevent them from creating profiles or using other features.

This app has great and intentions and parents should also encourage their kids to use this app in a positive and inclusive way. It can take the stress out of lunchtime for many students and may also help them make new friends.
