Zift Advisory
My Disney Experience is the Walt Disney World app, helping travelers plan, organize, and navigate their Walt Disney World vacation. The My Disney Experience is rated for users of all ages and features in-app purchases. This app can be found in the App Store and the Google Play Store and is safe for kids, but is really created for adults.
What is My Disney Experience?
My Disney Experience is the official Walt Disney World app, helping travelers plan, organize, and navigate their Walt Disney World vacation.
The My Disney Experience is free to download and use, is rated for users of all ages, and features in-app purchases to enhance user vacation experiences. This app can be found in both the iTunes App Store and the Google Play Store.
Once users have booked their Disney trip, they can use the My Disney Experience to select additional options, such as a meal plan or a Memory Maker photo package (this option is available via in-app purchase).
The My Disney Experience app can also be used to purchase a FastPass+, make dining reservations, order food, or plan character experiences. Also viewable in the app are a user’s photos, accessible by entering the PhotoPass codes listed on the provided cards (once in the parks).
Users wishing to outfit themselves before their Disney trip can purchase licensed merchandise directly through the My Disney Experience app, including everything from magic bands to specialized clothing, jewelry, and of course, Mickey ears.
It’s worth noting that many of the same items are available online or in parks for a lower price than available through the app.
Organized Disney vacationers can use the My Disney Experience app to book FastPass+ experiences, either 30 or 60 days in advance of their ticket dates, for up to 3 experiences per day. Once a theme park-goer uses their first 3 FastPass+ tickets, they may add more to their tickets by managing them in their My Disney Experience app.
Again, the FastPass+ options are tailored for the more organized Disney vacationer, looking to make the most of their experience. The beautiful part about being able to manage FastPass+ tickets with the mobile application is that a park-goer can drop a FastPass+ if they see that their reserved ride does not have a long line, and add a different FastPass+ ride while they’re waiting.
My Disney Experience users can also use the mobile app to check park hours and check up-to-the-minute ride wait-times.
Is My Disney Experience safe for my kids?
The My Disney Experience is a one-stop app to manage all of the details of a Walt Disney World vacation from a mobile device. This app is safe for kids, but it is really an app created for adult use.
In the planning stages, My Disney Experience users can view detailed maps for each of the six parks on the Disney property:
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Magic Kingdom Park
- Epcot
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park
- Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
- Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park
Also included in the My Disney Experience is information about Disney’s Boardwalk, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, and Disney Springs. In essence, all of the information one would need to plan and enjoy their stay in and around Disney’s properties is available in the My Disney Experience mobile app.
The My Disney Experience app also gives users up-to-date information about closed attractions and alternate operation hours. As with most, if not all, things Disney, parents don’t have much to worry about with the My Disney Experience app.
However, it’s advisable not to allow young children access to the app once reservations for restaurants or ride experiences have been made, to minimize the chance of items being deleted.
