What is My Cute Dog Bella?
The My Cute Dog Bella app combines all the games young kids love into a single app. With a Puppy Care area in addition to a Pet Vet and Beauty Salon, children can create, complete tasks and earn coins along the way.
My Cute Dog Bella is free to download and use, but users will need to pay to access most areas and games within the app. Rated for users ages four years and older, My Cute Dog Bella contains advertisements and in-app purchases.
In-app purchases in the My Cute Dog Bella app, range in price from $0.99 to $4.99. Those parents wishing to remove ads from the app can opt to pay $0.99, however, some users have complained that paying this price still does not remove all ads from the app.
To unlock the entire app and remove most ads in the My Cute Dog Bella app, parents can opt to make a one-time purchase of $4.99. Users can also pay as they go, unlocking new areas for $1.99 each.
As users play the simple games My Cute Dog Bella offers: feeding Bella, cleaning up Bella and washing dishes afterwards, playing vet by drawing blood, killing “monsters” in the blood specimen, administering medication, playing a memory match and obstacle game.
They are awarded coins for accomplishments. Coins can be used in the My Cute Dog Bella app to unlock additional features such as the playground area, which features mini games and the ability to give Bella a bath.
Is My Cute Dog Bella safe for my kids?
Parents should be aware that the My Cute Dog Bella app is geared towards young children but unless parents opt to pay for in-app purchases, their kids will be subjected to advertisements and unable to access the majority of the game.
Many young kids will want to play dress up and makeover in the My Cute Dog Bella app but this activity is in a pay-to-play area, which will likely cause frustration for those who opt to use only the free version.
While My Cute Dog Bella is free to download, users opting to play for free will be made to watch video advertisements to access the only two free areas.
Those parents who opt out of in-app purchases should know that their children will only be able to play two games within the app, building a doghouse and decorating their doghouse.
Advertisements and pay-to-play aspects aside, a common user complaint about the My Cute Dog Bella app is that it tends to run slow, freeze, and crash frequently.
While the app touts its educational value in teaching children how to care for pets, dress-up, makeovers and decorating dog houses doesn’t really replicate the responsibility of pet ownership.
This app is safe for kids and is best for killing time and occupying little ones, as the games are pretty basic and are a hodgepodge of everything.
Parents should also be aware that the Pet Vet area opens with a graphic, sickly pup on an examination table, sporting green mucus flowing from her nose and yellowish fluid leaking from her eyes.
The first goal for kids is to take a tissue and wipe off the gunk. Further along, children perform a blood draw on the dog and then empty the vial into a petri dish to examine under a microscope, floating among the red blood cells are tiny green monster faces children must slash to kill or eradicate from the blood.
