Since launch, it quickly grew to a member base of eight million active users, with three million minutes of international video calls made every day.
JusTalk features include Wi-Fi or data plan-accessible calls, address integration from phone and Facebook, games and doodles during chats, unlimited users in group chats, and a relatively simple interface. When users first open this app they will be prompted to login or signup. Signing up is simple an easy as all the app requires is a phone number, a password, your birthdate, and name.
After that users will be asked to provide access to contacts to find friends or they will be asked to invite friends. Users will not be able to proceed in the app without this step. Once connected, users will be taken to their home page which features tabs along the bottom for friends, calls, video calls, messages and discover.
While this is similar to many free calling/all-in-one messaging applications, JusTalk has several features which differentiate it from others in its class: video recording, enhances privacy, and night vision. The app allows users to record and capture video during a call, and night vision allows callers to be seen clearly in the dark.
Most importantly, however, all JusTalk communication is end-to-end encrypted; the company does not save any calls or chat exchanges, and couldn't read them if they did. JusTalk was initially meant to serve as an internal tech demo for an almost completely unrelated cloud services platform.
One of it’s top features that JusTalk promotes is group video calling and messaging. These calls and messages can be very interactive and allow users to send photos, videos, boomerangs, stickers, doodles, and more.This app is very well rated in both the App Store and the Google Play Store. There are not many complaints and any negative reviews seem to be quickly addressed by the JusTalk team.
Is JusTalk - Video Chat & Calls safe for my kids?
The JusTalk messaging, video and group calling app is safe for kids of all ages but younger kids may need some parental supervision. It should be noted that the app tends to work best over Wi-Fi connection. Parents should know that there are ads and in-app purchases for subscriptions, however, JusTalk Plus can be purchased to turn off ads.
This app doesn’t offer any features that make it any more risky than other messaging and video apps. Users can block calls with ease by adding numbers to their blacklist, and both audio and video calls are encrypted.
Parents of younger kids may want to offer some supervision until they learn what is and is not appropriate when video chatting. Otherwise this app is no more dangerous than apps like Snapchat or Facetime.
In-app purchases come in the form on JusTalk Plus and Premium and credits, ranging from $0.99 to $54.99. JusTalk Plus and Premium offers users access to ringtones, themes, HD video calling as well as no ads and 25 calling credits per period. Credits allow users to make international calls and range in price from $7.99 to $54.99.
Parents should have a discussion with their children about spending expectations. If parents do not wish their children to make any purchases via this app, parents should consider changing their settings. Parents should know that JusTalk also offer a kids version of this app that offers parental controls as well as no in-app purchases or advertisements.
