Ipsy is both a subscription service and a beauty tool. Once subscribed, users pay $10 a month for an ipsy Glam Bag that gets sent to their home. 


This service offers a fun way to try out five new samples of today's hottest beauty trends every month. The Ipsy Glam Bag items can be personalized for every user, and is a non-committal way to try out new brands. 


Brands included in Ipsy app users' Glam Bags can include more obscure, up-and-coming brands, as well as established cosmetics companies like:

  • Urban Decay
  • NYX Professional Makeup 
  • ColourPop
  • tarte Cosmetics 

Ipsy users can check out what will be in their upcoming Glam bag, as well as receive exclusive offers and discounts. 


Cosmetics are provided to Ipsy for free by companies, in exchange for information from Ipsy's product reviews. Its tutorial and how-to section are predominantly contributed by beauty-related video bloggers, many of whom prepare their content under direct guidance from the company. 

Is ipsy: Makeup, Beauty, and Tips safe for my kids?

Ipsy is safe for kids and has very little un-vetted content. Parents who are interested in exploring cosmetics and makeup with their child, may find working through each new Glam Bag and associated tutorials a fun shared activity.

For preteens and teens who want to learn more about make-up Ipsy has to an extensive how-to library, some customized for specific products, which can help your child master various  techniques with video guides, pictures, charts, and short articles.
