What is InsSave - Download & Save Photos & Videos From Instagram With Ease!?

InsSave is a free reposting and photo-saving app designed to be used in tandem with the social networking app, Instagram, to save photos and videos from the platform. With the Insave app, users can quickly and easily save, repost and share their favorite Instagram photos and videos.

Once users download InsSave, they’ll be prompted to log into their Instagram account, directly through the app. The InsSave app states that users must log into their Instagram accounts in order to obtain pictures and information from the Instagram API, to be able to copy, save and share.

Once logged into Instagram through InsSave, the app opens to the user’s Instagram feed. When a user sees a photo they like, they tap on the picture and choose one of three options: Save, Repost, Copy Caption, and Share. It’s important to note that photos are saved with the InsSave watermark on it.

Is InsSave - Download & Save Photos & Videos From Instagram With Ease! safe for my kids?

The InsSave app is safe for teens, but not recommended for kids. Parents should be aware that the InsSave app is designed to be used in tandem with Instagram, so users must be old enough to have an Instagram account to use the corresponding repost and photo-saving app.

As a reminder, Instagram requires users to be a minimum of 13 years old to register for and open an account, so Instagram terms of service will apply to InsSave app activity as well.

The Insave app provides an opportunity for parents to revisit their rules for photos that are appropriate for sharing on social media, as well as general picture etiquette. It's also important to discuss copyrights and why it’s important for creatives to receive credit for their work, so parents can use this app as an opportunity to review this topic.

Third-party apps like InsSave may make parents wary, as it may expose their children’s personal information. In fact, some of the permissions the InsSave app requires should make most potential users a little wary. Here are a few of the permissions the InsSave app requires:

  • read calendar events plus confidential information
  • add or modify calendar events and send email to guests
  • find accounts on the device
  • approximate location (network-based)
  • precise location (GPS and network-based)
  • read phone status and identity
  • read the contents of your USB storage
  • modify or delete the contents of your USB storage
  • receive data from Internet
  • close other apps
  • prevent device from sleeping

Parents should know that advertisements feature heavily throughout the InsSave app, with a static banner ad located at the bottom of the screen, as well as advertisements that pop up each time a user taps an Instagram photo they wish to save or repost.

Users have expressed dissatisfaction with the number of ads the InsSave app serves, many calling it a nuisance. Other users have complained about the inability to ‘x’ out of full-page ads and autoplay video advertisements.

With the sheer number of ads the InsSave app serves, users are paying for this app by being marketed to. There are plenty of other similar apps on the market to choose from, many of which feature the option to pay a small purchase price to remove ads altogether.
