What is Daniel Tiger's Grr-ific Feelings?

The Daniel Tiger’s Grr-ific Feelings app is an educational app, meant to teach young children how to explore and express their feelings.

Separated into four different areas, each offering numerous activities, children play and learn alongside one of their favorite characters from PBS Kids' Daniel Tiger. Geared towards children ages two to five years old, Daniel Tiger’s Grr-ific Feelings is free to download and can be found in iTunes and Google Play.

Separated into four features: Trolley Game, Sing-Along, Drawing Easel and Feelings Photo Booth, children navigate through a series of games and engaging, hands-on activities as they explore the concept of feelings.

In the Trolley Game, children are able to drive the trolley and play more than twelve different games all dealing with feelings. Children can practice calming down with Daniel, experience the feeling of pride as they help Daniel clean up, count along to four with Daniel when he’s angry, and experience happiness when Daniel does his happy dance.

Sing-Along offers 18 favorite songs from PBS’s Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, each animated and exploring a different feeling or emotion.

Children learn about self-expression with Daniel’s Drawing Easel, which features different colored paints, crayons and stickers. After a child is finished creating they’re able to save their artwork to their device’s photo gallery.

And lastly, in the Feelings Photo Booth children are able to watch an animated Daniel model facial expressions for a variety of different feelings and then practice on their own.  Children are able to take photos in the photo booth of them expressing a multitude of emotions, and then save to their own photo gallery.
