What is Angry Birds Rio?

Angry Birds has made its way all the way to Rio de Janeiro! In this tropical version of Angry Birds, our favorites birds have been shipped all the way to Rio. In this gaming app, it is the player’s job to save the birds from the Rio movies.

This app is available for download in both the App Store and the Google Play Store. It is rated for users of all ages and features both in-app purchases and advertisements.

Offering yet another 320 new levels, players are likely not to get bored with this game anytime soon.

Once downloaded users are brought to the main menu which can be a bit confusing. There is the shop that is available in each Angry Birds game as well a the playground, one of the episodes available in this game. An episode is a series of levels with different themes. The Angry Birds Rio game has 12 episodes included.

What’s new in this version is that users are no longer aiming to destroy evil pigs that have inhabited the bird’s homeland, but rather, the birds are now fighting against monkeys. The object of this game is to destroy said monkeys by launching birds and macaws via a slingshot. There is a bit of a learning curve when it comes to using the slingshot in the most effective ways but users will be able to catch on quick.

In-app purchases in this game again come in the form of coins, in-app currency, and as boosters. A booster provide players with more tools to win games or to extend gameplay when a user might not pass a level.

Common user complains speak to the amount of advertisements featured in this game. In addition to that, some users complain that as they progress further in the game, it is nearly impossible to progress without making in-app purchases of some sort.

Is Angry Birds Rio safe for my kids?

The Angry Birds Rio app is safe for kids. Parents will want to know that the ads featured in this app are for other products and games created by the Rovio company to produces Angry Birds.

Tech addiction is another worry parents may want to consider.  Like the other games in this Angry Birds franchise, this game can easily become very addicting. It’s pretty mindless, quick paced, and easy. Because of this, parents may wish to set limits on how much time they allow their children to play gaming apps.

Parents should also pay attention to any in-app purchases that their kids may make and be sure to set clear spending expectations and limits before they set them loose on this gaming app.
