What is Zoombinis?

Zoombinis is a puzzle solving game that challenges users to complete puzzles in order to move their blue characters along the map.

Zoombinis is rated for users 9 years of age and older and can be found in the App Store and the Google Play Store for $4.99. There are no additional in-app purchases or advertisements.

This app is an updated edition of the award-winning Logical Journey of the Zoombinis, which was popular in the 1990s. In this app, players take on increasingly challenging puzzle games as they seek to lead their Zoombinis to their new home. The Zoombinis game features a variety of different puzzles from word puzzles to pattern identification, there are 12 puzzles in the game each with 4 levels of increasing difficulty.

As you complete each new puzzle and conquer the different levels of difficulty, you help the zoombinis get closer and closer to their new home, escaping the evil Bloats who have taken over the Zoombinis’ home.

Many reviewers praise this app saying that it is both challenging and visually appealing. Other reviewers note that it reminds them of computer games and is a great way to improve critical thinking skills while playing an enjoyable game.

Is Zoombinis safe for my kids?

This app is safe for kids of all ages to play but is recommended for children ages 6 to 12 due to mild fantasy violence and occasional cartoon mischief.

Parents should know that this app encourages mild violence in that the zoombinis are trying to escape from the evil Bloats who have been holding them captive in their homeland. Other than mild violence and mischief, this app is safe for kids as it has no interactive abilities and is predominantly a puzzle solving game.

Issues with this app can be reported to the developer by emailing support@terc.edu.

Zoombinis is similar to other popular problem solving apps where users must complete a puzzle in order to move along through the fantastical world, such as Word Wizards.

Zoombinis has received several awards for educational apps such as the Parents’ Choice Silver Honor Award and a 2016 Revere Award. There is no age verification when downloading this app but parents do not have much to worry about with this game.
