What is Google Earth?

Google Earth is the interactive 21st century answer to the globe of years past. Users can explore the earth, zooming in on cities and landmarks, or zooming out to get the big picture.

Google Earth is free in both the Google Play store and the iTunes app store and is rated for everyone

Google Earth gives users a unique, beautiful perspective of our world. With stunning high definition images of every corner of the earth, users can glide over the expanse from on high or get down on the streets of their favorite city.

Everybody can get something out of Google Earth: history buffs can view close up the point where Caesar crossed the Rubicon, fashionistas can take a stroll down London’s fashion districts, and sports fans can get a bird’s eye view of their favorite stadiums and venues.

Google Earth has 3D images from above, and in street view, where users can walk the streets of major cities or even their own neighborhood. Reviewers are often taken aback by the quality of the images and the scope of the project – a virtual, interactive map of the whole earth.

Google Earth is entertaining when browsing and educational when you need to see some important place in the world.

Is Google Earth safe for my kids?

Google Earth is safe for kids.

The app is free of ads, in-app purchase, or other external links, so any misplaced tap or click will only take them to a different part of the earth, and will not result in an unexpected purchase or visit to an advertised website.

Google Earth has the power to expand the horizons of its users, who have the ability to travel across the world in just a few seconds, and see some place they have never seen, or maybe they didn’t even know existed.

Kids love exploring Google Earth, and they will learn about geography and famous architecture as they do so, possibly stoking an interest in world history as they do so.
