The Emoji- inTextMoji app integrates with a user’s iOS device’s keyboard to provide an additional range of expressive emoji options.
Rated for users nine years of age and older, the Emoji- inTextMoji app is $0.99 to download and does feature ads and additional in-app purchases. This app is only available for iOS devices.
To integrate the Emoji- inTextMoji app with an iOS device keyboard, users must first navigate to their Settings menu. In the Settings menu, users select General from the list and then scroll down to choose Keyboard.
Under the Keyboard menu, users select the Keyboards option and then Add New Keyboard. Under the Third Party Keyboards menu, users will see Emoji Keyboard - inTextMoji Keyboard, which they then choose and slide the slider to Allow Full Access.
Navigating the Emoji- inTextMoji app is difficult, as users must carefully weave throughout the app without tapping one of the many ads featured throughout or triggering an in-app purchase.
Those users who venture into the Emoji- inTextMoji app will find that it’s more than a mere keyboard extension.
Within the Emoji- inTextMoji app users can play games, create emoji art and save for later use, and even create a code to communicate with friends by assigning emojis to different alphabet letters.
TextMoji also features premade emoji art for users to quickly select and send to friends, such as letters and messages built from different emoji graphics (i.e., “HUG ME”).
Is Emoji - inTextMoji™ Pro ;) safe for my kids?
Those users downloading the Emoji- inTextMoji app for a keyboard extension and greater library of emojis likely won’t get tricked into playing games and paywall scenarios, however, the number of emojis offered for free are limited.
At some point, users will want to add more creative and expressive emojis to their available library, which will cost them anywhere between $0.99 and $9.99.
In addition to a library of emojis to choose from, the Emoji- inTextMoji app offers a selection of stickers featuring cartoon-like graphics of characters with names like Spot Nick, Funny Bunny, Claire Bear, Socks the Fox, Mr. Jelly, and George.
In reality, Emoji- inTextMoji is meant to appeal to younger users who wish to be more expressive in their digital lives, both on social media platforms and in text messages, as well as to have an app with mindless games to occupy time.
Avid texters will be willing to shell out for the additional cost of the more creative emojis, as they allow users to express themselves more adequately.
With regard to keyboard apps and privacy concerns, parents should know that the Emoji- inTextMoji app collects the following information:
- Full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address when registering
- IP address and information about internet browser and the device used to access the app.
- The frequency and length a user uses the app, the date and time a user accesses the app, the websites or apps that have directed a user to the app, and the web pages a user visits from the app.
- The developer does not sell, market or rent a user’s personal information.
Thus, the TextMoji app developers are privy to a lot of personal information for a simple keyboard extension. And despite saying they do not sell, market or rent a user’s data, TextMoji does state that they may share user information with third parties “providing services” and that they can not assure users that third parties will comply with regulations.
This app can be safe for older kids with parental supervisions, but parents may want to think twice due to the privacy concerns.
